Department of Statistics was established in 1993 by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şahinoğlu and the first undergraduate and graduate students began their education in the 1994-1995 semester.
Our department consists of 17 educators and 6 research assistants working in Statistics Theory, Statistical Information Systems, Probability Theory and Processes, Risk Analysis, Applied Statistics, and Operations Research divisions.
There are Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, Doctorate Degree, and Double Major programs in the Statistics Department. 30% of the undergraduate program is given in English. 70% of courses are mandatory and the rest are elective.
