The Department of Statistics at Dokuz Eylül University has a mission to produce graduates who are knowledgeable about the requirements of the age, researchers, productive, able to think multifacetedly, conscious of their responsibility to society, collaborative, and open to innovation. In pursuit of this goal, it is aimed for students to gain experience by applying the theoretical knowledge they learn in classes to practical areas through internships, and to enter the workforce more equipped with the experience they gain before graduation. As a result, it is observed that students develop themselves in verbal and written communication during their internship and establish professional connections with individuals in the business world. Many of our students obtain job opportunities in the companies where they interned for after graduation.

It is mandatory for students of the Department of Statistics to complete an internship of at least 32 working days during the summer/winter term starting from the fourth semester of their education. It is aimed for each student to benefit from this internship experience to the fullest. For this purpose, a commission consisting of faculty members conducts the coordination of internship-related matters. Meetings held throughout the year aim to raise students’ awareness about internships and ensure that they complete this process successfully by gaining the most from their internships.

We thank our students who represent our department in the best possible way during this process by showing the necessary responsibility and care to acquire all the mentioned values, and we wish them success in their careers.
